Former Reading FC manager Veljko Paunovic has a new job having joined as manager of Mexican side Tigres UANL.

Paunovic was Reading boss from 2020-2022 and guided the Royals to a 7th placed finish during his first season in Berkshire as the team narrowly missed out on the play-offs after their exceptional start to the campaign couldn’t be maintained.

After a disappointing second season in charge, which saw a spell where the Royals lost to non-league side Kidderminster Harriers before being thumped 7-0 in the Championship at home to Fulham, Paunovic was eventually sacked in February 2022.

Having left Reading, he joined Liga MX side Guadalajara in October 2022.

He took his team to the final of the Liga MX where they were beaten despite going 2-0 ahead against Tigres.

Paunovic has now been appointed as head coach of Tigres UANL.
