A strip of land off a long residential road in Woodley which is owned by a council has been put up for sale.
The L-shaped piece of land, accessed from Reading Road, is actually owned by Reading Borough Council.
It is located to the rear of terraced properties in Howth Drive and Wheble Drive.
The space is currently unused, therefore Reading council has begun a marketing process which is open to third-sector voluntary organisations and private bidders.
An advert for the site for third-sector organisations to bid has appeared on the Reading Voluntary Action website.
The site is being marketed by AH Lansley on its website and Rightmove. Interested parties can contact the estate agents for viewings.
A spokesperson for Reading Borough Council said: “This is an unused piece of land which is surplus to requirements and sits within Reading Council’s housing estate at Reading Road, which is located in Wokingham Borough.
“The land is being marketed for sale through appointed agents and also in accordance with the Council’s Third Sector Policy to allow the community, charity and voluntary sector an opportunity to bid.
“Offers are also being invited on the open market as a parallel process.
“Any final suitable use will ultimately be determined by Wokingham Borough Council as the relevant planning authority.”
The deadline for expressions of interest closes at 12pm on Monday, October 12.
