Police and fire services are working together after reports of youths starting fires in a park in Reading.
The Caversham neighbourhood policing team has been liaising with Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service following incidents at Mapledurham Playing Fields.
In response, new warning signs have been installed across the area to raise awareness and discourage further incidents, with officials stressing the dangers posed by fire-setting behaviour.
Authorities warned that starting fires can spread rapidly, causing serious harm and significant damage, and confirmed it is a criminal offence.
Residents are being urged to report any suspicious activity. Thames Valley Police said members of the public should call 999 in an emergency or 101 for non-emergency information.
Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
