Ascot United FC’s Junior Yellas have been crowned Berkshire Girls Under-14 Division Two champions after a season which also secured promotion to Division One.
The Diamonds went into the final day needing a victory to seal the title alongside Risborough Rangers. However, their final opponents, Marlow FC, were unable to field a team, meaning Ascot were awarded the points needed to confirm top spot.
The side lost only twice during the campaign and saw 13 different players score across the season. Goalkeeper Hanna Richards kept six clean sheets as Ascot finished among the division’s strongest defensive teams.
Alongside their league success, the Diamonds also won the EC7 Girls Under-14 Tournament and the Sandhurst Girls Under-14 Tournament, while also collecting the EC7 Fair Play Award.
The team reached the semi-finals of the Berkshire Cup and will now step up to Division One next season.
The club also praised the performances of the Ascot Sapphires, who are on course for a third-place finish in Division Two following their promotion from Division Three last year.
Head coach Alix Todd was credited with leading the Diamonds’ successful campaign, supported by assistants Leigh Thomas and Mike Sealy.
