A NEW exhibition is coming to Reading this week, showcasing work by two Iranian artists.

The Rising Sun Arts Centre is set to host WE ARE, a two-day event exploring the work of Andre Aghassi and Sevin Sohrabi.

Aghassi’s work includes paintings and sculpture with recycled materials, while Sohrabi’s explores the strength and beauty of women as well as protest and struggle.

The event will also see a talk with the artists discussing their work.

Andre Aghassi said: “I have a strong passion for sculpture and painting and have tried to provide a new perspective on my surroundings contrary to my artistic style.

“In creating my paintings and sculptures I have attempted to use recycled materials to help the planet as it is our Mother and we should respect it.”

“I have infused Iranian women’s protest spirit into my work, capturing their determination.”
