Two people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in a garden in Berkshire.
Thames Valley Police was called to a property in Desborough Crescent, Maidenhead, at about 16:45 BST on Monday, 10 August, following reports that a man in his 20s had been stabbed.
Armed response officers were first on the scene and provided life-saving first aid to the victim.
He was taken to hospital and remains in a stable condition.
A woman in her late teens from Maidenhead has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
A man in his 40s, also from Maidenhead, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Both remain in police custody.
Chief Superintendent Stuart Bosley, Berkshire East Commander, said police understood the incident could cause concern because it happened in a residential area in broad daylight.
“We believe this was an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the public,” he said.
“Our officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries and providing reassurance so please speak to them if you have any concerns.”
Police said they were working to establish exactly what happened and urged anyone with information to come forward.
Chief Supt Bosley also praised the actions of officers who attended the scene and local residents who provided emergency first aid to the victim before paramedics arrived.
“We are committed to ensuring that those responsible are held accountable and that the community feels safe and supported,” he said.
Officers remain in the Maidenhead area carrying out enquiries.
