A SUPERHERO took over Broad St. Mall on Saturday, as part of a special event to celebrate Reading’s Oxford Road.
Beautiful Creatures Theatre teamed up with creatives including DJ Maynard and singer Nichole Thelma Grace for an afternoon of fun, community and music.
The event was preceded by a free drumming and percussion workshop on Sunday, March 17, which allowed people to join in the giant parade.
And there was a performance from Beautiful Creatures Theatre, in the mall.

But the star of the show was Chanya, a 4m tall puppet of a community nurse and superhero, who wowed crowds in the mall, and handed out messages of wellbeing and care.
The event was organised by Reading High Street Heritage Action Zone, and was a big hit with all who attended.
