THAMES Valley Police’s summer Open Day returns at the force’s training centre in Sulhamstead, near Reading, next month
The event features demonstrations from the Mounted Section, featuring police horses and their riders, as well as displays from the Dog Section, where visitors can meet police dogs and their handlers.
There are also a range of exhibits and activities for families, as well as those interested in a career in policing.
Aspiring detectives can put their investigative skills to the test with Major Crime, while those interested in the history of policing can explore exhibits at the Thames Valley Police Museum.
Covering Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire, Thames Valley Police is one of the largest police forces in the country.
Deputy Chief Constable Ben Snuggs said: “We are delighted to welcome you to our Force Open Day in 2026.
“This important day gives you a wonderful opportunity to meet some of our officers, staff and volunteers who make up Thames Valley Police, and learn more about the wide range of work we do to serve our communities.
“You can expect to see a wide range of different displays, activities and stalls in what promises to be a fun day for all the family.
“We are proud of the service we provide and look forward to spending an enjoyable day together.”
Thames Valley Police’s Open Day takes place from 10am-4pm on Saturday, September 19 at the TVP Training Centre in Sulhamstead.
Entrance to the site is free and last entry will be 3.30pm for a 4pm event close.
Bags will be permitted on site but should be no bigger than A4 size.
