A NEW outdoor play coming to Caversham celebrates life not on the ocean wave, but on the river.

Theatre companies Stan’s Café and South Street’s Sitelines are teaming up for the performances which will be held at the 1st Reading Sea Scouts Boathouse in The Warren.

It sees Craig Stephens take audiences on a virtual trip down the Thames, featuring mature, history, inspiring art and design, tales of sewerage and ceaseless human invention. It is illustrated by a 1.7m long textile ribbon map made by the artist Vicky Roden.

Performances last just under at hour and takes place at noon and 3pm on Saturday, September 9, and Sunday, September 10.

Wheelchair users can be accommodated, as there is a chair lift available. This should be booked in advance.

Suitable for all ages, tickets for River Tours cost £12, or £10 for South Street members.
