TRAIN services are set to see considerable disruption during the bank holiday weekend as further strikes are due to take place.
South Western Railway has announced significant reductions to services across its network on Saturday, August 26, which will have adverse affects on those travelling to the festival, especially those with day tickets for Saturday.
Trains across the network will run only between 7am and 7pm, and customers are advised to make alternative arrangements for travel wherever possible.
On Saturday, August 26, there will be no SWR services running to or from Reading Station.
Two trains per hour will run each way between Waterloo and Southampton, and Waterloo and Basingstoke.
Four trains an hour will run each way between Waterloo and Woking, with one train an hour running each way between Guildford and Woking, and Salisbury and Basingstoke.
One train an hour will run each way from both Waterloo to Ascot and Waterloo to Feltham via Richmond.
Two trains an hour will run each way from Waterloo to Feltham via Hounslow, with addition Twickenham services for the England V Fiji Rugby World Cup fixture.
Stuart Meek, chief operating officer at South Western Railway, said: “We’re sorry that customers will once again face disruption due to strike action by the RMT union.
“As on previous RMT strike days, South Western Railway is unable to serve the two routes to Portsmouth, which will affect a number of events on Saturday 26 August.
“If you are attending these events, you will need to make alternative travel arrangements.
“Once again, we’re sorry for the disruption, and thankful for our customers’ patience during these latest RMT strikes.”
