Reading FC has confirmed Select Car Leasing will continue as a Principal Partner for the 2026/27 season – but its logo will no longer appear on the front of the men’s first-team shirt.
The Reading-based company has been associated with the club for a decade and has held the naming rights to the Select Car Leasing Stadium since 2021.
As part of a renewed agreement, its logo will feature on the back of the first-team match shirts, as well as on training wear and matchday warm-up shirts.
It will also remain on the front of Academy match shirts, Reading FC Women’s match shirts and junior replica shirts sold through the club.
Wokingham Today and Reading Today understands that a gambling company will be Reading’s front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2026/27 season.
Select Car Leasing became the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor in 2021, with the agreement coinciding with Reading’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
The company has also supported the club’s community work, including the Tickets for Kids initiative, which has provided thousands of match tickets to grassroots football clubs.
It has also backed projects through Reading FC Community Trust and supported celebrations marking the club’s 150-year history.
Reading chairman Rob Couhig said Select Car Leasing had been “far more than a sponsor” during the past decade.
“Since 2016 they’ve shared in some wonderful moments with us, but perhaps more importantly they’ve stood shoulder to shoulder with the club through some incredibly challenging times,” he said.
“That level of loyalty, commitment and belief is something we will never take for granted.
“As a proud Reading business, they’ve consistently demonstrated that this partnership is about much more than branding.”
Select Car Leasing co-founder and chief executive Mark Tongue said the company was “immensely proud” of its relationship with the club.
“What began with sponsorship of the dugouts back in 2016 has grown into a relationship we’re immensely proud of, from becoming Principal Partner and securing the stadium naming rights to supporting the club on and off the pitch,” he said.
“Reading FC means a huge amount to all of us at Select. We’ve stood alongside the club through some difficult moments and, in doing so, have built a strong connection with the supporters, the town and the wider community.”
He added: “As we celebrate this milestone, our focus is firmly on the future. We’re proud to continue supporting Reading FC, its fans and the local community, and we’re excited to see what the next chapter brings.”
The new agreement means Select Car Leasing will continue to have a presence across Reading’s men’s first team, women’s team, academy and retail operations.
The company will also retain the naming rights to the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
