An Indian restaurant and takeaway in Reading has applied to keep on serving food until the early hours.
The Biryani Lounge is located in the Wokingham Road shopping area, which is one of the busiest areas of the town, home to a number of food businesses and convenience stores.
The eatery was opened by four friends in August 2022.
They specialise in biryani rice dishes with halal meats, vegetable curries, Indo-Chinese dishes and more.
The food is available for dine-in and takeaway via phone call or through Uber Eats.
Now the business owners have applied to keep on selling food and non-alcoholic drinks until 4am each night.
They have done this in a licensing application to Reading Borough Council.
It is understood this is to enable later deliveries, as Uber Eats deliveries currently run from 12pm each day, finishing at 10.45pm Monday to Saturday and 9.45pm on Sundays.
A statutory consultation into the 4am food sales is currently live.

Earlier this year, the restaurant was briefly closed by council environmental health officers.
This was reported on January 9. However, the business owners were swiftly able to deal with the hygiene risk and reopened.
At the time, Bhanuchandar Pathakamuri said the team conducted a “comprehensive sanitisation and deep cleaning of the restaurant.”
He said: “It has been a challenging period for us, but we are relieved and grateful to be able to welcome our customers back.”
