Reading FC suffered a third consecutive defeat on Tuesday evening as Swansea came from behind to win 3-2.

The Royals went ahead in South Wales against the run of play through Yakou Meite, before the Ivorian set up Tom Ince to double their lead.

Harry Darling was able to pull one back for the Swans with a header before half-time, giving the home side the impetus needed to make a charge.

Ollie Cooper squeezed home an equaliser on the hour mark, before Jay Fulton inflicted the final blow with a strike from outside the box.

Joe Lumley 6: Made two spectacular reflex saves to deny Obafemi and Cabango early on and cannot be faulted for Swansea’s goals.

Amadou Mbengue 5: Was targeted by Sorinola and Cooper in the first half, but grew into the game. Allowed the distance between himself and Holmes to get too big when moved to centre-back.

Andy Yiadom 5: Not really troubled before being replaced in the 56th minute after taking a nasty knock. Picked up a yellow, which means he’ll be suspended for Saturday’s game against Bristol City.

Tom Holmes 5: Went about his defensive duties diligently, winning his aerial duels. Struggled to cut out the pass in behind at times and could have directed Mbengue a little more in the final half-hour.

Tom McIntyre 5: Almost gifted Swansea an equaliser minutes into the second half but managed to recover. Was not his most confident performance. Accumulated minutes may be taking their toll.

Junior Hoilett 6: Was only afforded the licence to get forward after Swansea had equalised. Did his job on both ends of the pitch, driving his side up the pitch late on.

Jeff Hendrick 4: Just couldn’t get a foothold in the midfield, which the home side bossed all night. Was not able to pressure the Swans’ midfield and gave the ball away too many times.

Mamadou Loum 4: Kept things simpler in possession, which helped his cause, but ultimately sat at the base of a midfield which was overrun. Needs to offer more protection to those behind him.

Tyrese Fornah 5: A decent showing from the young midfielder whose added mobility was arguably what the Royals were missing against West Brom. Unlucky to be the first midfielder replaced.

Tom Ince 6: Did a lot of the hard yards for his team and showed his class with a quality finish. Could have earned his side a penalty late on.

Yakou Meite 7: Was involved in both Reading goals, converting the first and dispossessing Darling for the second. Harried the opposition’s defenders until he was brought off.

Baba Rahman 4: Could easily have given away a goal after losing the ball with very few men back. Not convinced he offered enough to warrant being ahead of Guinness-Walker in the pecking order.

Ovie Ejaria 5: Worked hard, but looked like a player who hadn’t played for a few weeks.

Lucas Joao 5: Showed a few positive glimpses to beat his man in transitions, but often took one touch too many.

Andy Carroll: N/A

Subs: Bouzanis, Long, Guinness-Walker
