READING FC manager Paul Ince confirmed that he believes he has lost three key players to injury for the remainder of the season.
The Royals were forced into two early changes in their draw with Hull City as both Liam Moore and Tom McIntyre were withdrawn with injury.
He also revealed that Shane Long is likely to miss the rest of the campaign after undergoing a scan on his back for an injury he picked up away at Blackburn Rovers.
Speaking on Liam Moore, Ince said: “With his process the last few months, he was so excited that he was starting.
“To see that happen to him was sad for us. We don’t know the extent of it but I think that’s him for the season.
“That could be eight or nine players we haven’t got. I’m devastated for him.
“I’m sure he will bounce back, he’s got that mentality to bounce back and I’ll stay in contact with him to make sure he gets through his rehab and does everything right.
“He’s ruptured his fasciitis so that’s a big blow.”
Meanwhile, he also confirmed that McIntyre and Long are likely to miss the rest of the season with eight league games to go.
He continued: “Tom’s is a hamstring. So it will be four weeks until he is back on the park. That’s the season done.
“We’ve been cursed with injuries and that’s what you get when you haven’t got the options of changing it and refreshing players.
“If you keep doing that, you will get injuries and that’s what we’ve got.
“Shane felt a nerve in his leg against Blackburn. He went for a scan and it’s grade one, grade two which is eight weeks. “
