AN ADOPTION charity is inviting Berkshire residents to find out more about they can adopt with a free event.
Parents and Children Together (PACT) is hosting a live, online Q&A session to help residents find out more about adoption and hear from adoptive parents.
Those considering adopting can put questions to the charity’s team, especially about adopting groups of siblings.
It will also feature contributions from an adoptive parent of three siblings.
Internal figures show that last year 40% of the children the charity found families for were siblings.
PACT has also shared the experiences of Ellie and Andrea, who adopted three children through the charity.
They said: “Our children always have playmates and we have the large family we dreamt of. But, undoubtedly, the most important aspect is that they have each other.
“These little people have experienced so much uncertainty and change in their short lives, the only consistent factor has been their brothers and sisters– and this is something we were determined to protect.”
PACT’s Service Director for Adoption, Lorna Hunt, said: “PACT is always looking for potential parents with hearts open to the joy of a bigger family with the reassurance that PACT will always support their families for the times that may be more challenging.”
The PACT online Q&A takes place from 12.30pm on Thursday, September 26.

PACT is among the leading adoption charities in the Consortium of Voluntary Adoption Agencies.
It placed 78 children with 54 different families in 2023-2024 and also offers therapeutic support, counselling, advice, and training, as well as virtual events and education support.
