THAMES Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an incident of actual bodily harm in Reading.

On Sunday, July 30, the victim, a man in his 20s, was at the bus stop outside Sainsburys on Friar Street.

At around 2.05pm, the offender assaulted the victim with a sharp object, causing an injury to his arm.

The victim received hospital treatment at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and has since been discharged.

A 27-year-old man from Reading has been arrested in connection with occasioning actual bodily harm and released on bail until Saturday, October 28.

Investigating officer, PC Jade Foord based at Reading Police Station, said: “We would like to appeal to anybody who may have witnessed this distressing incident or took footage on their phones to please get in touch.

“We believe this to be an isolated incident and would like to reassure the public that we have taken this report seriously with the suspect arrested and subject to bail conditions whilst we carry out our investigation.”
