A man has been charged after a child was seriously injured in a crash on Rushey Way in Earley.

Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, Matthew Haylett, 33, of Reading, was charged on Monday, March 2 with a string of motoring offences.

The charges include causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, failing to stop for police, failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision, failing to report an accident and driving without insurance.

The charges relate to a collision in Rushey Way on 26 February in which a child was injured. The child remains in hospital receiving treatment.
