Reading FC fans have responded to co-owner Todd Trosclair after he sent out a message ahead of the final game of the season.
The Royals will host Blackpool at the Select Car Leasing Stadium as the League One campaign comes to a close with nothing to play for after Leam Richardson’s side saw their play-off hopes diminish.
Trosclair put out a tweet on X to Reading fans which said: “Royals, looking forward to seeing everyone at the match Saturday! I hope to see everyone around the town enjoying Todfathers (especially Rick Catania).”
However, many fans have said that they will not attend the game due to their disappointment in Richardson’s tactics, which many have perceived as negative and defensive.
Many fans have responded to the owners voicing their displeasure at the current management of the team.
One fan said: “I’ve been looking forward to seeing front foot attacking football, hell, I would just take Reading actually playing attacking football, not sideways and backwards passing, but that’s not happened for about 28 games.”
Another said: “No thanks Todd I’ve decided not to come even though I’ve paid for a ticket, why? Because the football is so sh*t I’d rather not waste my time. 25 years of watching Reading Football Club and I’ve never been so disconnected from a squad like this seasons. Won’t be renewing either.”
Another fan responded and said: “I’ve been a season ticket holder for over 20 years, but unfortunately won’t be attending another game (including Saturday) or renewing my ST next season whilst Leam’s our manager as he’s sucked any enjoyment out of watching my beloved Reading FC.”
Another fan said: “I can’t make Saturday but I’m kind of glad because this season has been a hard watch. Please think about the manager situation for the new season. I fear lots of people won’t renew if Leam is in charge.”
One more added: “Great owners, great players but terrible manager. It’s hard to watch the LR style of football. Didn’t go to the last game and not likely going on Saturday either or renewing my ST after 25 years. I don’t know a single fan that wants Richardson to stay. Please do the right thing.”
