A FOURTH person is now being treated for meningitis following a string of cases, the UK Health Security Agency has confirmed.
A pupil from Westwood Farm Junior School has become the fourth person to have contracted meningitis–one of whom, Lewis Walters, died last week.
The two others, who attended Highdown Secondary School and Reading Blue Coat School, both in Reading, were said to have been ‘socially’ linked by the UKHSA, but no more specific details have been made public.
The latest confirmed case is said to be recovering, however, and those with close contact links to all four confirmed cases have been offered precautionary antibiotics.
