A NEW shop catering to sci-fi, fantasy, and cult entertainment fans is coming to Reading this year.
Forbidden Planet is set to open its latest branch here in the town, with a store opening in Queens Walk in September.
The shop will sell its usual offerings of printed media, including comics, graphic novels, and manga, as well as collectibles, action figures, and card games.
Forbidden Planet was established nearly 50 years ago, and has since grown to stock merch and media from some of the biggest franchises in the world, including Marvel, DC, Pokemon, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Warhammer, Magic: The Gathering, and hundreds more.
Forbidden Planet’s Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Sumner commented: “We’ve been dreaming of bringing Forbidden Planet to Reading for decades and, at last, that dream has morphed into a 21st century reality.
“This vibrant town–the jewel of the Thames Valley–is a spirited locale with a richly-diverse cultural scene.
“We can’t wait to introduce the feel-good power of Forbidden Planet to the community.”
Forbidden Planet will open in units 1B and 1C in Queens Walk in September.
