Reading music charity Readipop has revealed the first wave of artists set to perform at its free Yard Party on Saturday 22 August, celebrating the opening of its newly refurbished studios with a diverse day of live music, community performances and creative activities.
The first line-up announcement includes “cinematic electro-rock renegades” The Pink Diamond Revue, hotly tipped indie favourites Puma Theory, hip hop duo Finessa & Shy Zer0 and Famous Red Tights, who makes her Readipop debut. Puma Theory return to the Readipop stage for a special acoustic set following their acclaimed performance at last year’s Readipop Fiesta, while Finessa & Shy Zer0 are back after their memorable set at Riverbeats 2025 on Oracle Riverside.
The event will also feature a special Readipop XOX Showcase, bringing together Reading EMOM host Rob Woodward’s SuperAudioNation project with fellow live electronic act Hi Scores ’n Yogerts, alongside performances from young participants of Readipop’s AAA Programme, who will share tracks created during sessions with the charity’s team.
Readipop’s much-loved community samba group Beatroots Bateria will perform, as will African drumming collective Tankata Percussion bringing their high-energy performances and inviting audiences to join in.
Alongside live music across the day, visitors can enjoy guided tours of Readipop’s newly refurbished studios, family workshops, street food, a licensed bar and more live acts and DJs still to be announced.
The Yard Party marks the first public event to take place at Readipop’s redeveloped Trafford Road studios, which are now designed as a creative hub for grassroots and established musicians, producers, young people and the wider community.
Gavin Lombos, Readipop Charity Co-founder, said: “We’re really excited to reveal the first artists joining us for the Yard Party. As always, we wanted to create a line-up that reflects what Readipop is all about: bringing together different generations, genres and levels of experience, from emerging local talent through to established artists.”
He added: “This event is a celebration of our new studios, but it’s also a celebration of the incredible music community we’re lucky to be part of. Whether people are coming for the performances, taking part in a workshop, touring the new space or discovering an artist they haven’t heard before, we hope everyone feels welcome.”
Tickets are free, although donations are encouraged to help support Readipop’s charitable work delivering music projects for young people, musicians and communities across Berkshire. As capacity is limited, advance booking is recommended.
