ANOTHER week and another selection of great music to enjoy, all with a link to Reading and Wokingham.

Top of the list is Kyros’ Esoterica, which is giving your editor a hard time in spelling. This is a fantastic piece of music and we think you’ll love it, and the other nine songs we’ve selected.

Simply head to https://bit.ly/rawsoundstoday and enjoy the music.

There is also a Facebook page and group chat that bands and music fans can tap into. You can search for RaW Sounds Today and it will come up.

Kyros – Esoterica

This band have many links to the area. They are on our White Star Records label, are managed by Dean at Generation Studio and their drummer, Robin Johnson is from Wokingham.

Robin is building quite a reputation as one of the best drummers around and so fits perfectly in Kyros, a band of excellent musicians who are creating quite a buzz with their live shows and record releases.

They have already released some great singles this year and this is their latest. A brilliant track with pulsating rhythms, soaring guitars, layers of synth and an anthemic chorus – https://www.kyrosmusic.com/

Danny Lampo – Number One

We hadn’t heard any of Danny’s music until a few months ago when we featured his Puutu single.

That encouraged us to explore some of the Reading musician’s other releases and we really loved this one so thought we’d include it here.

It was a single in 2022 and also features on Danny’s African Queen EP that was released earlier this year. It feels like it should be a huge international hit with its chilled groove and wonderful guest vocal from AJ Safoa – https://www.dannylampo.com/

Rocket Kings – Paving the Way

Those wonderful purveyors of uke pop from Reading have released their brand new album and this is the title track. It’s a fine collection and you can see them at The Castle Tap in Reading on December 9h – https://www.facebook.com/rocketkings/

The March Violets – Snake Dance

The March Violets came out of the Leeds goth scene in the 90s and were regularly high in the indie charts of the time. This is one of those singles.

Don’t miss the chance to see them live on October 26th at Face Bar Reading where they will be supported by local faves The Go Go Cult – https://www.facebook.com/TheMarchViolets

That Joe Payne – My Heart

Here’s a great song from a friend of the area (he’s played at Wokingham Festival a couple of times). It’s from the brand new album by That Joe Payne called Bread & Circuses. We were lucky to attend the album launch show where Joe and his excellent band of musicians played the whole album live – https://www.thatjoepayne.com/

Trim – Restart

This is a great song from the album Resolve by this band created by local songwriter, Chris Trim – https://www.trimmusic.co.uk/

Rila’s Edge – Gold

We popped along to this Wokingham band’s Reading Facebar show recently and it was another brilliant performance. They play further afield this month with shows in London and Bristol.

Check out their social media for info – https://www.rilasedge.com/

Lilac – Touch

It’s been a while since the brilliant Losing Myself (In You) single from Lilac which made our top 20 of 2022. However, it was worth waiting for more of their excellent floral indie sound with this new single – https://lilacband.co.uk/

AlphaLine – Paper Cups

They performed a great set at Wokingham Festival and have released their debut EP, Polarity, from which this is taken – https://www.alphalineband.com/

Selina and the Howlin Dogs – Midnight Man

Here’s a song from the new album Biscuit City by those wonderful local blues rockers – https://www.selinaandthehowlindogs.com/
