PARENTS And Children Together (PACT) is holding a fundraising quiz to support its work.

Reading’s Big Quiz will test people’s knowledge about Reading’s history and culture, say PACT.

Designed to be enjoyed by lifelong locals and newcomers to the town alike, the event will promote a joyful and lively atmosphere of friendly competition and fun trivia.

Will players know which Reading-born actor co-wrote and starred in Cemetery Junction?

Or what year The Oracle opened?

Will they have heard of a Reading Tallboy?

Terry Dixon, who is donating the prize of a Terry’s Reading Walkabout and trophy to the winning team, said: “We look forward to welcoming teams from across Reading for this entertaining quiz.

“I’ve pulled together a fun range of questions, and hope that everyone will leave learning something new about our town.

“It promises to be a really enjoyable evening, which will also raise money for a great local cause.”

All funds raised will go to PACT’s life-changing work with children, women and families.

The event will take place at Revolucion de Cuba, Reading, on Thursday,October 2.

Doors will be open from 6.30pm until 9pm, with tickets costing £10 per adult, or £40 for a team of four.

Advance booking is essential, with tickets available from the PACT website.
