VISITORS of a Reading museum will have the unique opportunity to take part in conversational trips led by specialists.

The latest offerings of the Museum of English Rural Life (MERL)’s Our Green Stories Tours series will see curator Dr Ollie Douglous joined by two special University of Reading guests.

Dr Hannah Lyons, curator of the University’s Art Collections, will explore landscapes, nature studies and different forms of environmental work as part of her Our Green Artists tour on November 14, while Cathy Smith, the MERL Garden volunteer coordinator, will uncover the museum’s own projects in her Our Green Fingers session.

Each tour will last about 45 minutes and culminates in a pop-up display or an opportunity to peek behind the scenes. Weather permitting, the garden session will take place outdoors, so visitors are asked to dress appropriately.

There will be a chance to ask Ollie and his guests questions at the end of each session.

The free sessions run from 11.30am-12.30pm at the MERL, Redlands Road.
