POLITICIANS in Reading are set to take part in a hustings event ahead of the general election.

Churches Together has invited residents to hear from the candidates for the Reading West new Reading Central constituency week.

The event will see candidates field questions from the audience as they lay out their approaches if elected in the upcoming vote.

Candidates Liv Bailey, of Labour; Helen Belcher, of the Liberal Democrats; Ross McKinnon, of the Conservatives; Carolyne Culver, of the Green Party; Kate Bosley, of Reform UK; and Adrian Abbs, independent, will attend for Reading West and Mid-Berkshire.

Candidates Dave McElroy, of the Green Party; the incumbent Matt Rodda, of Labour; Raj Singh, Conservative; Henry Wright, of the Liberal Democrats; and Andy Williams, of Reform UK, will be in attendance for Reading Central.

The Reading West hustings takes place at Tilehurst Methodist Church from 3.3pm on Sunday, June 16.
