Former Reading FC midfielder Ovie Ejaria has been linked with a return to football with Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.

The 26-year-old has been without a club since having his contract with the Royals mutually terminated in December 2023..

It has been reported that Ejaria had been training with Wednesday at the end of last season with the club exploring the potential for a permanent move.

Following his departure from Reading, it had also been reported last season that he was training with Championship side Plymouth Argyle prior to being on trial at Wednesday.

Ejaria had a frustrating end to his time in Berkshire having put in some outstanding displays during his early time with the club.

He first joined Reading on a loan deal from Liverpool in the 2019/20 campaign and after joining club again on another season-long spell, the Royals splashed out around £3 million to make the deal permanent in August 2020.
