WOODLEY UNITED lost in their final away match of the season against a side in desperate need of points to try and avoid relegation.

Manager Jordan Blake gave under 18s Manny Adu-Essah and Shakeel Ahmad their starting debuts and it was the former who was the thrust of much of Woodley’s early play with his runs down the right wing which often resulted in him being fouled.

However, the resulting free-kicks were either overhit to Bonnett or cleared by the home defence.

Despite its start, United fashioned few chances with Bonnett saving low from Connor Suckling in the 33rd minute.

Despite having little to do, United’s keeper Alex Londors saved well six minutes later only for Woodley to be awarded a free kick for off-side in the build up play.

The 37th minute saw Rafa Brandao’s corner evade oncoming players and go out of play for a goal kick to be followed two minutes later with Suckling’s low cross evading Ciaron Carolan and Adu-Essah.

Hounslow won its first corner in the forty second minute which was to be a warning of things to come as Woodley struggled to clear and George Smith fired the loose ball over the cross bar.

Londors made an excellent save from Tom Windsor for another corner kick which saw the ball end up in the visitors’ net but the goal was disallowed for handball.

Suckling fired wide when one on one with Bonnett after 58 minutes but three further Hounslow corners caused Woodley problems

Londors blocked a header from the initial corner on the goal line before the ball was cleared to Adrian Smith whose shot was tipped over the crossbar..

The second corner was cleared for a third corner that Charlie Light kick evaded the near post and squirmed over the goal line for the opening score in the 62nd minute.

From the restart, Bonnett blocked a Connor Richardson shot while Ben Lambourne saw an overhead kick from a Brandao corner cleared to safety.

However, as time passed play became scrappy with shots coming from long range.

As the match entered second half stoppage time the hosts were reduced to ten but Woodley were unable to take advantage of the situation with the closest they came to scoring being in the seventh minute of stoppage time when Bonnett saved from close range a header from Londors

Woodley United: Londors, Davies, DeSousa, Ahmad, Jeczalik, Brandao (Barros), Adu-Essah, Lambourne, Carolan (Monteiro), Richardson, Suckling Subs not used: Phillips, Walker, Chingoma
