Are You Listening? Festival announces full line-up for its warm-up gig

ARE YOU Listening? is set to return to celebrate its 10th year of festivities in May, and has announced who will be performing at its warm-up show.

Headliners Dream Wife will be joined by Nottingham four-piece Divorce, who bring a grungy edge to their alt-country output and are fresh from a UK tour late last year.

Also added to the bill is Reading’s own Doops, whose psych-rock sensibilities are soaked in synth and festooned in fuzzy funk.

Post-punk purveyor Heartworms has also been announced, whose gothic output is crowned with an ice-cold vocal ability and sophisticated songwriting talent.

Festival gem The Pink Diamond Revue will be performing at the warm-up too, with their eclectic, acid-infused prog-pop and nebulous visual style in full force.

Rounding out the bill will be Berkshire beat peddlers The Push, who will perform a floor-filling DJ set filled to the brim with deeply danceable fare.

The warm-up party will take place at St Laurence Church on Friday, May 5, from 6.30pm.

Are You Listening? is set to take place at venues across Reading, including Face Bar, Milk, Oakford Social Club, Purple Turtle, The Rising Sun Arts Centre, and Sub89, on Saturday, May 6.

Black Honey, Deadletter, Deijuvhs, Eat Daddy Eat and Ghost in the Photographs are among the first wave of bands to have been announced for the festival.

They’ll be joined by Mr Fogg, Panic Shack, Prima Queen, Shelf Lives, Sophie Jameson, The Bobo, and The Dianas.
