Police have carried out a high-visibility security operation in Reading town centre as part of ongoing efforts to deter crime and reassure the public.
Officers involved in the deployment, which forms part of Project Servator, engaged with local businesses, security staff and members of the public throughout the day. Both uniformed and plain-clothes officers were present.
The operation focused on maintaining a visible police presence while also gathering information and encouraging vigilance among the community. Members of the public were urged to report anything they considered suspicious.
Police say plain-clothes officers play a crucial role during such deployments, as they are able to blend into everyday surroundings and identify unusual behaviour that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Project Servator deployments are designed to be unpredictable and can take place at any time and location, using a variety of tactics to help keep people safe.
During the patrol, officers also had a lighter moment when they encountered a friendly corgi, which appeared more interested in treats than crime-fighting.
