READING FC manager Ruben Selles has admitted that the situation at the club ‘cannot continue’ after they were dealt another two point deduction.
The Royals have now lost six points this season and 18 in total under the ownership of Dai Yongge.
The latest points penalty puts the team in 20th position and just three points above the League One drop zone with 11 games left to play.
“The problem is that unfortunately it becomes the norm,” said Selles.
“You start to get tired of those things when people say ‘it’s us against the world’. I don’t see anything epic from that.
“ I just see that we are doing a job and it’s getting more difficult and more difficult and more difficult.
“The resilience is there and everyone wants to win football matches, but there is going to be one day when it is enough because the situation cannot continue.
“Almost every single month we get some bad news, a points deduction, something financially which is hitting us and hitting us. There is a point when the norm cannot be there.”
Selles confirmed that he expects that the staff will be getting paid on time for February, however he could not be certain that the club will not face any more points punishments this season.
He continued: “We are going to continue going and continue trying to win football matches but it’s time to say that’s enough.
“As much as we know we are going to get paid tomorrow and that’s as much as I can say.
“No one here inside (the club) has certainty that we are going to be safe for the rest of the season or the opposite. That’s how we live, one day at a time.”
