Rapper Loyle Carner criticised Reform UK leader Nigel Farage and voiced his support for Palestinians during his performance at Reading Festival.
The 31-year-old, one of the biggest acts to perform on the festival’s final day, made the comments during his set on the main stage on Sunday.
During the performance, Carner rapped an expletive directed at Mr Farage before adding: “Free Palestine.”
The comments were met with cheers from the crowd and the performance remains available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
The broadcast carries warnings for strong and discriminatory language, but does not specifically refer to Carner’s comments about the Reform UK leader.
Carner, whose real name is Benjamin Gerard Coyle-Larner, also made comments about Harry Potter author JK Rowling while introducing his song Horcrux.
He told the crowd that he loved the Harry Potter series but did not share the same affection for its author.
The rapper has previously used his performances and public appearances to express his political views and has criticised Mr Farage on stage before.
Elsewhere during the final day of Reading Festival, Irish rap group Kneecap also used their headline performance to make political statements.
The group expressed support for Palestinians, led chants of “Free Palestine” and criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
A Palestinian flag was also displayed during their performance.
