READING FC manager Ruben Selles believes that fans have the right to ‘express themselves’ amid protests against club owner Dai Yongge.
The Royals have been plagued with numerous financial issues under owner Dai Yongge and have already been deducted four points this season.
Fans threw tennis balls onto the pitch to show this displeasure at Dai Yongge during the game against Bolton, with further protests planned for this Saturday’s match against Burton.
“The fans have the right to express themselves the way they want,” said Selles.
“We don’t want any more points deductions.
“The things with the tennis balls, I would not like to stop the game again, but I can’t tell people what to do or not what to do.
“It’s not for me to decide, it’s for them (the fans) to express themselves. Everybody has the right to protest. We all want the best for Reading.
Selles also confirmed that he has had no contact in the last month with club owner Dai Yongge or CEO Dayong Pang.
He continued: “I do everything through Mark (Bowen). There has been (no direct communication) in the last month.
“I have direct communication with Mark and we sort anything inside with him.
“I know Mark is the person I need to relate, speak and organise with. That’s my usual way to do things at this club. It is how it is.”
