A GUIDED heritage walking tour exploring Reading’s industrial history and biscuit-making legacy is taking place in the town centre.

Walk 1: Original Huntley & Palmers 200th Anniversary Walkabout is coming to Reading next month, led by local historian Terry Dixon.

Terry’s Reading Walkabouts brings guided walks to residents to raise funds for local charities, with the latest edition covering the historic origins, key landmarks, and architectural heritage of the world-famous Huntley & Palmers biscuit company.

Participants visit sites associated with the firm’s growth into a global brand, exploring how the industry shaped Reading’s development, social history, and international reputation as “Biscuit Town”.

The tour starts outside Reading Town Hall and finishes near Blake’s Lock, running for approximately two hours.
