CCTV released after over £1,000 stolen from Reading retail parks

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after over £1,000 of goods stolen in retail parks across Reading.

Thames Valley Police has released images of two people who they wish to speak to in connection with two thefts which took place in Calcot and Whitley.

The first incident occurred at Next in Reading Gate Retail Park at around 4.30pm on Thursday, September 3, followed by a second at the Boots store at the Calcot Sainsbury’s retail park at around 1.45pm on Monday, September 7.

During both incidents, two women entered the stores and selected a large quantity of items from display shelves before leaving without making any attempt to pay.

The value of the stolen goods is in excess of £1,000 and includes a significant quantity of clothing and other items.

Investigating officer PC Richard Tarrant, of the West Berkshire Local Command Unit, said: “I am appealing to anyone who recognises the two women shown in these CCTV images to get in touch.

“We believe they may have vital information that could assist our investigation into these theft offences.

“If you recognise either of these women, or have any information that may help, please contact us.”
