FURTHER train strikes are set to take place next week, with disruption to travel likely during the May bank holiday.
Train drivers’ union ASLEF has announced it is staging more strike action in continued disputes over pay and working conditions.
Rolling walkouts are planned to begin on Tuesday, May 7, when drivers on Thameslink, Southeastern, Southern, Gatwick Express, South Western Railway are set to strike..
On Wednesday, May 8, drivers will walk out on Avanti West Coast, Chiltern Railways, CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway, Great Western Railway, and West Midlands Trains services.
On Thursday, May 9, LNER, Northern Trains and TransPennine Express services will see disruption due to strikes.
An overtime ban is also in effect between bank holiday Monday, May 6, and Saturday, May 11.
Routes subject to strikes are likely to see little or no services, with large parts of the rail network affected, including delays on the following delays as services return to normal.
Passengers are being advised to check their arrangements and changes to services ahead of travelling to best avoid disruption.
