A McDonald’s restaurant in Reading has reopened following a refurbishment aimed at improving the experience for customers and staff.
The restaurant at The Oracle shopping centre has undergone a redesign as part of the fast-food chain’s wider programme to modernise its restaurants.
The revamp includes a new layout designed to make ordering quicker and more efficient, with greater use of digital technology and dedicated areas for different types of customers.
According to McDonald’s, the changes better integrate digital ordering through self-service kiosks and the McDonald’s app, while making more effective use of the restaurant’s internal space.
The refurbishment also includes separate facilities for customers dining in and delivery couriers, as well as a redesigned crew room to provide staff with a more comfortable place to take breaks.
Local franchisee Richard Forte, who owns and operates the restaurant, said he was “proud to reinvest” in the site.
“The dining area is more contemporary, and we now have separate facilities for our dine-in customers and our couriers, leading to a better experience for everyone,” he said.
“It’s exciting to see the fresh new look and feel of our Oracle Shopping Centre restaurant, and I’m confident the changes will not only benefit our customers but also our restaurant team, as these will help make their jobs a little easier.”
The redesign follows growing demand for faster and more flexible ways to order food, with the restaurant now featuring dedicated spaces for different ordering methods.
McDonald’s said the traditional walk-in service would remain available, but the updated layout is intended to streamline ordering and create more space for customers to enjoy their meals.
