Reading FC could be set for a change in management imminently after drama has ensued surrounding the club in the past few days.
Some sources have suggested that Richardson may have managed his last game for the club and is could depart before this Saturday’s meeting with Cardiff City.
Leam Richardson has seemingly lost the faith of a large majority of supporters, and if reports are to be believed, some of the dressing room too.
It was reported by local media outlet The Reading Chronicle earlier on Wednesday that some players are frustrated with Richardson’s management. One player even came out anonymously to speak out against the current Royals boss and described the current chaos at the club.
After a string of poor results, including a 1-0 defeat to relegation battling Doncaster Rovers on Saturday, the Royals’ play-off hopes now appear to be in tatters.
They had got themselves into a strong position a few weeks prior, however have been impacted by damaging recent results which has left them adrift of the top six with other teams also to play games in hand.
Many fans have spoken out against Richardson’s tactics which have been labelled as negative and suffocating of the attacking players since he joined to take over from previous boss Noel Hunt in December 2025.
Some supporters have also suggested that they will stay away from attending games while Richardson is still in charge and some have even said that they are debating whether to renew their season tickets.
The news of a potential dip in attendances is likely to alarm owners Rob Couhig and Todd Trosclair who have been intent on trying to increase footfall at the Select Car Leasing Stadium since taking over the club last summer.
Reading FC are yet to comment on any of the developments.
