READING FC have been dealt six point deduction from the EFL for the second consecutive season.
The points penalty means that the Royals drop down to 20th in the Championship table and are now on 40 points.
This means that the team are now in the midst of another relegation battle and have just seven games left to try and secure safety.
They currently sit one point above the drop zone above Blackpool, Huddersfield Town and Wigan Athletic.
The club has been under a transfer embargo for the last two seasons which means they have been limited to signing only free agents and loan players after breaching the EFL’s profit and sustainability rules in previous years.
Reading were put under a business plan by the EFL in order to comply with financial rules, but it has been alleged that the club has broken certain regulations which has triggered another punishment for this campaign.
