A BERKSHIRE charity seeks hedgehog-loving volunteers.
Herbie Hedgehog Rescue in Reading has an opportunity for people to help them support endangered mammals in the borough.
Volunteers will weigh hedgehogs, clean cages, and provide food and water – the job is physical, and requires bending and stretching.
Training will be given for applicants, who must all be over 18 years.
Organisers say reliability is essential, and that volunteers must be able to get to the rescue either by public or via their own transport.
The available slot is weekly, on Tuesdays, from 10.30am until 1.30pm.
Herbie Hedgehog Rescue asks that only people serious about volunteering apply, saying: “No time wasters please as there is a lot of time being invested in training volunteers.
“However, anyone genuinely interested in being an important part of hedgehog rehabilitation and a member of a lovely friendly volunteer team is encouraged to apply.”
The rescue is based in RG6.
