Nominate your favourite for the Health Worker of the Year award

In the frightening Covid pandemic, we thanked our lucky stars for the dedication of medical professionals. They left their families and risked their own lives daily, sacrificing health and time to keep our community safe and save lives.

Post pandemic, the Pride of Reading Awards celebrated their extraordinary efforts by presenting Royal Berkshire Hospital with a Special Recognition Award for the tireless, 24/7 dedication of its entire 6,500-person staff in managing the gruelling emergency.

As pressures increase on the health service the challenges are still severe and medical staff, and those that support their efforts, are still working above and beyond to protect the community.

Could you shine a light on the health professional who goes the extra mile to provide exceptional care, support, and humanity in every interaction?

Nominating someone isn’t just about giving them a trophy; it’s about making sure they feel seen. It is your chance to say: “We remember what you did, and we see what you continue to do.”

It’s wider than hospital staff. If a pharmacist, midwife, therapist, nurse or consultant has made a lasting difference in your life – or the life of someone you love – now is the time to give them the recognition they deserve.

The award is sponsored by Clearview Intelligence, a company that uses smart data to improve road safety and keep traffic moving.

Sir John Madejski, representing Clearview, said: “When you get older, you come into contact with a lot of health workers. So I think to honour somebody that’s been recognised as doing a great job by their colleagues and by the public is very poignant.”

Tell awards organisers about medical staff who have made your life that much better with exceptional professional care or maybe even a positive outlook and a smile. Or perhaps even a colleague who deserves recognition.

Thousands of people in the health community work hard and long hours behind the scenes, the doctors and nurses making critical decisions under immense pressure – every single one plays a vital role.

They don’t just deliver medicine; they deliver hope – the quiet heroes who carry the weight of our community’s wellbeing on their shoulders every single day.

Behind every recovery and every comforted family is a healthcare worker who chose to give a little more of themselves.

Take a moment to share your story and nominate your Health Worker of the Year today.

There are 17 other categories for the awards and you can see them all and nominate at porawards.co.uk

Do you know an individual, company or group worthy of winning a Pride of Reading Award? It’s easy to nominate. Go to porawards.co.uk to see all 18 categories or scan the QR code on this page
