A WOMAN who’s amazing persistence brought her husband back to life is being nominated for The Chris Tarrant Award.

The Pride of Reading award salutes someone who lives or works in Reading who deserves special recognition. It is sponsored by The Oracle shopping centre.

Tania Cheale, from Emmer Green, leapt into action when her husband Richard experienced a cardiac arrest and died.

Her nominator said: “She remained calm and performed CPR for 12 minutes until the ambulance showed up.”

Paramedics continued resuscitation for 20 minutes before getting a full pulse and they were able to take him to hospital.

“Tania has been amazing during this whole situation making sure all her family and friends know the importance of knowing CPR, “ said her nominator.
