FA Women’s Cup
WOODLEY UNITED were edged out in a goal filled cup tie at Brentford.
The Kestrels opened the scoring when Rebecca Gooch scored from the penalty spot, but Brentford came roaring back with three goals in quick succession to take a lead into half-time.
Woodley got themselves back within the contest when Sarah Lawrence netted just three minutes after the restart, but they were dealt a blow when Brentford restored their two goal lead immediately after.
The seventh goal of the game came before the hour mark as Charley Evans made it 4-3, but again Brentford regained their two goal advantage just five minutes later.
May Hamblin made it 5-4 with five minutes to go but Woodley were unable to come up with an equaliser in an entertaining cup tie.
Woodley are in cup action again next weekend when they face Long Crendon in the Berks & Bucks County Cup.
MORTIMER lost out 8-1 in their cup tie at home to Watford.
