A NEW industrial estate has begun construction in south Reading.

Wrenbridge and Fiera Real Estate have started work on the new build of Focus Industrial Scheme in Nores Hill Wood, just off Whitley Wood Lane.

The scheme will see six new units, covering just under 230,000 square feet in total, aimed at providing flexible accommodation for industrial and logistical occupiers.

It will be set among already established landscaping in the area, as well as aiming for EPC A+ and BREEAM Excellent ratings.

Plans include space for electric vehicle charging, rooftop solar panels, and net zero carbon footprint in construction.

Work is now due to conclude next year, with plans which would see the units available to occupiers by Spring next year.

The area is the former site of Berkshire County Council, taken over in 2000 by Foster Wheeler following the abolition of the county council.

It was latterly taken over by Amec Foster Wheeler until 2024, when it was then acquired by Wrenbridge and demolished last year.

James Feltham, Director at Wrenbridge, said: “We are delighted to commence construction work onsite, with a completion date of spring 2027 we will be delivering much needed industrial and logistics space into the Reading market.

“Working alongside our contractor MCS we are excited to be regenerating the redundant site to bring forward a highly sustainable scheme.”
