A shop near the Reading Festival site has won permission to sell alcohol until midnight.
The Premier convenience store in Caversham Road, next to The Gorge Cafe and the BP Shop N Drive fuel station, opened in 2023.
The store is located near the Reading Festival site in Richfield Avenue and is within a 10-minute walk from the main site entrance.
The owner has won permission to sell alcohol from 6am to midnight each night following a successful application to Reading Borough Council.
Previously, alcohol could only be sold at the store until 11pm each day.
The licence change was approved following the conclusion of a statutory consultation that ended on Friday, August 4.
It will enable staff to sell alcohol to festival-goers entering and leaving the site.
While revellers are allowed to take drinks into the campsite, they are not allowed to bring them into the arena, where drinks must be purchased from permitted bars.
It also enables sales until midnight throughout the year, and grocery deliveries via the Deliveroo app.
The building Premier occupies was previously home to Thames Valley Printers & Cartridges Ltd, which was closed by April 2023.
The company Nimal & Sons successfully converted it into the convenience store later that year, and won the initial permission to sell alcohol from 6am to 11pm each day.
Caversham Road is one of the busiest streets in the town, home to a range of takeaways and shops.
Premier is located near the Caversham Bridge roundabout, opposite the Village Hotel.
