Residents across Berkshire have been urged to remain vigilant following a number of reported burglaries.
Police said offenders had targeted homes in search of high-value items including jewellery, watches and car keys.
The incidents remained “relatively uncommon”, officers said, but residents were being encouraged to take simple steps to protect their homes.
People were advised to make sure doors and windows were locked, even when they were at home, and to keep valuables out of sight and away from windows.
Residents were also encouraged to consider using CCTV, doorbell cameras and security lighting where possible.
Police said people should be cautious about sharing details of expensive purchases, valuables or holiday plans on social media.
Residents were also asked to look out for neighbours and report any suspicious activity, vehicles or individuals in their area.
Officers said proactive patrols and enquiries were being carried out as they worked to identify those responsible.
They added that information from local communities played an important role in preventing and detecting crime.
Anyone who sees something suspicious is asked to contact police on 101 or report it online.
People should call 999 if a crime is in progress.
