A 12-YEAR-OLD girl was the victim of a sexual assault in Caversham last week.

The incident took place near the junction of Oakley Road and Kidmore Road, on the hillside, around 4.20pm on Tuesday, June 29.

Thames Valley Police said that she was approached by a Hispanic man thought to be aged around 20. He was wearing a camouflage face mask, a light grey hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms and was around 5ft 7in or shorter.

He touched his victim inappropriately over her clothing, but she was able to flee to safety.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Maggie Bruce, of Reading CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward.

“I would also urge any motorists who were in the local area around the time of this incident to please check any dashcam footage in case it may have captured what happened or something that could help our investigation.
