Groundworks are taking place at the pitch of the Select Car Leasing Stadium, the home of Reading FC.
A video posted by the club, appearing to use drone footage, shows vehicles used during pitch construction work.
The project is taking place to make improvements to the playing surface.
A post on the club Facebook page states that fans can expect “a major summer of investment” with more updates due in the coming weeks.
The project follows exploratory groundworks that took place in November last year.
Rob Couhig, the club chairman, said: “Our groundstaff do a fantastic job, and by carrying out this exploratory work now — without causing any disruption to what is already an excellent playing surface — we can set ourselves up for a smoother and more efficient process in the summer, whatever the final scope of works may be.”
The video was posted on Monday, May 11.
This phase of the project is taking place following the 2025/26 season, which ended on Sunday, May 3, with Reading FC finishing in League One in 12th place.
The league has 24 teams, with Exeter City, Port Vale, Rotherham United and Northampton Town being relegated to League Two.
The full programme of pitch reconstruction is taking place during the summer off-season ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, which begins on Friday, August 14.
That will mark Reading FC’s fourth year in League One after the club was relegated from the English Football League Championship in 2022/23.
