THAMES Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Sulham Woods near Reading.
The incident happened between 6pm and 6.10pm on Tuesday, August 25, in an area of Beal’s Plantation known locally as “Ski Side”.
A 14-year-old boy was riding his bike with two friends when they were approached by an unknown man.
The offender assaulted the victim before stealing his bicycle, which is described as a black and yellow Specialized Status bike with brown pedals.
The victim sustained minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.
The offender is described as a black man, aged around 18, between 5ft 9ins and 6ft tall, with a slim build.
He was wearing a blue top, dark grey or black shorts and a blue medical-style face mask.
Investigator Natalie Baird, based at Loddon Valley police station, said: “I am appealing to anybody who was in Sulham Woods, particularly around the bike jumps at Beal’s Plantation, between 6pm and 6.10pm on Tuesday evening, to come forward if they saw anything suspicious.
“There were a number of people in the area at the time, including dog walkers and joggers, and I believe somebody may have seen the offender either before or after the robbery took place.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have footage from the surrounding area which could assist our investigation.
“I would also like to thank the members of the public who stopped to help the victim and his friends following the incident.
