Reading Buses cancel 10 football bus routes for tomorrow’s game

Reading Buses have cancelled ten dedicated bus routes ahead of Reading FC's match on Saturday, January 22.

TEN dedicated football bus routes will not be running for Reading FC’s game against Huddersfield tomorrow.

Reading Buses has apologised for the temporary suspension, which is has said is due to a reduction in the availability of driving staff due to the prevalence of the Omicron variant.

The following services will not operate:

  • F10 –Sonning Common
  • F11 – Emmer Green
  • F12 – Emmer Green and Caversham
  • F13 – Caversham Park
  • F21 – Norcot
  • F22 – Tilehurst
  • F24 – Purley
  • F31 – Woodley Airfield
  • F32 – Woodley
  • F33 – Lower Earley

Spectators who would normally use these dedicated services can still attend the game using normal Reading Buses services that serve the same areas.

They can then use the F1 shuttle bus service from the town centre.

Reading Buses marketing and communications manager Jake Osman explained that a special Matchday ticket will be available on the network, priced at £4.50 for adults and £2.90 for Boost.

“This will be available even if boarding outside the normal Reading zone,” he added.

“Customers will need to retain this ticket and show it to the drivers or supervisors of the F1 services, who will then allow them to board without any additional charge.”

Reading Buses said that spectators from further afield will still have their dedicated services to the football stadium, which will continue operating as normal. These are:

  • F1 – Reading Station Shuttle
  • F2 – Shinfield Park park and ride
  • F3 – Mereoak park and ride
  • F14 – Henley on Thames
  • F23 – Theale & Pangbourne
  • F20 – Newbury Bus Station
  • F30 – Twyford
  • F51 – Basingstoke, Tadley and Burghfield
  • F52 – Farnborough, Yateley and Crowthorne
  • F53 – Wokingham, Emmbrook and Winnersh
  • F54 – Bracknell
