PROGRESS Theatre in Reading is inviting residents and theatre-lovers to an exclusive event as it looks ahead to the future next year.

The theatre is set to launch a series of fundraisers ahead of plans to transform the space, beginning with a night of celebration and arts in January.

Progress is putting on a new series of original monologues by local writers and performed exclusively for the event.

It is also offering refreshments, including a complimentary glass of bubbly, and nibbles, as well as the chance to chat with performers and theatre members.

It comes as the theatre is seeking to update its facilities, including re-upholstering its seating, a revamp of the foyer, and improvements to its backstage facilities.

Monologues and Bubbly Night is taking place at Progress Theatre, The Mount, from 7pm on Saturday, January 26.
